General

  • Avoid storing accessories in places with high heat or sun exposure.
  • This is because excess heat, light or moisture can cause damage to the fibres of the product.
Hats
  • Ideally, broad-brimmed hats, specifically felt and straw fedoras and boaters should be stored in a hat box.
  • Your product will be shipped to you in a box with packing materials designed to protect it.
  • You can also use this packaging to store your hat long-term, as it will support the structure and protect the surface from dust.

Reshaping

Race Hats
As race hats can have large brims and a floppy style, it is normal if some race hats to become misshaped in transit, or with general wear. The brim can be reshaped using an iron.

  • Place a soft, ironing cloth (or towel) over the brim. Do not sit the iron directly on the hat
  • Set your iron on the lowest heat (such as polyester), and gently move the iron across the brim in a consistent motion
  • If your iron's lowest heat setting is not effective, slowly and gently increase the heat to the 2nd lowest setting
  • Once you've finished steaming the brim, place the hat on a flat surface and leave it to dry naturally
  • From there, the brim's shape will reset

Felt Hat Crown

  • In the case the crown of your hat becomes misshapen, you can hold the hat over a boiled kettle
  • The steam will assist in popping the crown back into the original shape.

Felt Hat Brim

  • In the case a shaped brim is squashed, you can hold the hat over a boiled kettle and the steam will assist in popping the brim back into shape.
  • In the case a flat brim is misshapen, a cloth may be placed over the surface and a gentle iron can be used to flatten the brim, the hat should then be stored flat, and allowed to cool and dry naturally.
